Zurich/Schlieren ZH – The city of Zurich is joining the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich as a member. The innovative strength of the companies and researchers is expected to create sustainable jobs in the Zurich economic region.

The City of Zurich will join the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich as a member, according to a LinkedIn post by the city’s Head of Economic Development, Yves Bisang. The Bio-Technopark is an established center for life sciences and offers optimal conditions for research institutions and the start-up ecosystem. Membership gives the city access to a diverse network and strengthens cooperation in location promotion beyond the city limits, according to the press release.

Zurich hopes to benefit from its new membership. The innovative strength of the companies and research institutions based here makes a decisive contribution to the creation of sustainable jobs in the entire Zurich economic region, the press release continues.

Mario Jenni, co-founder and CEO of the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich, cites flexibility, lean structures and quick decision-making processes as the recipe for success. This, “coupled with decades of experience on the part of real estate providers when it comes to building functional and affordable laboratory infrastructure”, are important factors, he is quoted as saying in an interview published on the Greater Zurich Area (GZA) website.

“Another ingredient is the outstanding basic research at ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich) and the University of Zurich in life sciences, so that the flow of innovative spin-offs does not dry up,” Jenni continues.
